Euphorbia alluaudii is an elegant and architectural succulent shrub, prized for its upright, branching stems and airy, tree-like form. With its slender, cylindrical branches and soft green to blue-green colouring, it brings height, structure and a contemporary feel to cactus and succulent displays, making it a strong feature plant for garden centres and houseplant shops.

As the plant matures, it develops a graceful, multi-stemmed silhouette that works beautifully as a statement specimen in individual pots or as a vertical accent within mixed succulent collections. Small, subtle yellow-green cyathia may appear near the growing tips under good conditions, adding gentle seasonal interest without detracting from its clean, sculptural look.

Native to Madagascar, Euphorbia alluaudii is well adapted to indoor growing and is valued for its low maintenance requirements. It prefers a bright position with plenty of indirect light and can tolerate some direct sun, which helps maintain compact growth and strong structure. Water sparingly, allowing the compost to dry out completely between waterings, and keep much drier during the winter months. A free-draining cactus or succulent compost is essential to prevent root problems.

Euphorbia contains a milky latex sap that can be irritating to skin and eyes, so care should be taken when handling. With its refined form, drought tolerance and modern aesthetic.
