Sarracenia ‘Velvet’

The proprietary cross Sarracenia ‘Velvet’ earns its name from its distinctive traits. The large cups it produces are adorned with numerous standard hairs, imparting a soft, velvety texture to the touch. In addition to its velvety appearance, the brown-colored veins running through the cups are characteristic of this plant. Ideal for windowsill cultivation, this trumpet pitcher plant maintains relatively low traps. While its exact origin remains unknown, it is likely a cross involving Sarracenia leucophylla and other crosses, potentially including Sarracenia purpurea venosa.
