Aeonium ‘Valour’ is a striking and beautifully structured succulent that brings a touch of drama to any indoor or outdoor display. This distinctive variety is admired for its compact rosettes of fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves, which form a perfect geometric pattern. The foliage is deep green to bronze with hints of burgundy, intensifying in colour when grown in bright light. Its sculptural form and rich tones make it an ideal choice for adding texture and contrast to mixed succulent arrangements or as a stand-alone statement plant.

Native to the Canary Islands, Aeoniums thrive in bright conditions and prefer a well-draining, gritty compost. Aeonium ‘Valour’ enjoys plenty of light, ideally a sunny windowsill, conservatory, or greenhouse if kept indoors, or a sheltered spot outdoors during warmer months. While it tolerates full sun, some protection from harsh midday rays will help preserve its vibrant leaf colour. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings, as overwatering can lead to root rot. During winter, reduce watering significantly when the plant enters its resting phase.

This variety is relatively slow-growing, forming neat rosettes that can reach around 20 to 30 centimetres in height. In the right conditions, mature plants may produce tall flower spikes bearing clusters of small, star-shaped blooms in late spring or early summer. Aeonium ‘Valour’ is a wonderful choice for garden centres and houseplant shops looking to offer customers a low-maintenance yet visually captivating plant that thrives both indoors and out, bringing sculptural beauty and year-round interest to any collection.
